Welcome to the Welsh Vineyards Association

Created in 2013, the Welsh Vineyards Association is the regional association for WineGB in Wales. WineGB is the national association for the English and Welsh wine industry. Its mission is to advance the multiple interests of all its members to establish Great Britain as one of the world’s great quality wine regions

Wales can boast that the first commercial vineyard in the UK was planted by Lord Bute at Castell Coch in 1870s. Today, our vineyards are sited from Chepstow in the south to Anglesey in the north, Monmouth in the east and Aberaeron in the west. With additional planting on existing sites and new vineyards being established, production from Welsh vineyards has grown rapidly in recent years and this expansion is set to continue.

The quality wines produced by the Welsh vineyards have won many awards in  international competitions such as Global Masters, Decanter and International Wine Challenge. Many of the vineyards also see tourism as a key part of their business and welcome visitors to their facilities.
